This series is a meditation on Alice Liddell, the real-life girl that Lewis Carroll based Alice In Wonderland on. It is commonly believed that he had a sexual attraction to this young girl, who he often photographed. Their relationship was abruptly severed when she was eleven-years-old, and the pages from Carroll’s diaries that documented the time frame he was involved with the Liddell family were removed.
Here, I sought to explore the interior spaces of Alice’s mind, and how interior spaces can provide solace during times of trauma.
